The Mobilise-D consortium hosted an end of project conference in Edinburgh in March 2024. This five-year project was co-led by Professor Lynn Rochester (Newcastle University) together with Novartis (Dr Dan Rooks) and brought together experts from academia and industry to develop an accurate method to assess mobility in the real-world.

This project included the world’s largest study of digital mobility outcomes and the results will be a crucial contribution to the evolution of digital mobility assessment. The conference was our first opportunity to formally celebrate the consortiums achievements, share our early findings and lessons learned, and discuss current and future advances in the field. The event attracted over 230 guests from 81 institutions and from 16 countries. Attendees were from academia, pharmaceutical and technical companies, regulatory and policy organisations and patient charities. The response from attendees confirmed the high level of interest and optimism in our research from the wider digital health community. This external view point is highly valuable and the discussions will be documented as part of a conference report. All Mobilise-D conference presentations are available to view on the project YouTube Channel.

The work of the Mobilise-D consortium will continue through our Mobilise-D Network. This will provide a forum for researchers to collaborate and further advance the field. Further work will also continue through the SUSTAIN Mobilise-D project.

We will share our progress through the Mobilise-D website.
